MACAU GRAND PRIX 2010,
NEWS: 20 and 21st November 2010
Racing the Pan Delta Festival championship, Joao FERNANDES will team-up with the Official Ducati racers in BSB championship, Michael RUTTER and Martin JESSOP, and the French champion EWC-STK, Anthony DOS SANTOS.
Anthony says: "I start to dream about Macau Grand Prix since I start racing more than 10 years ago. But I was thinking it's impossible for a French racer to be invited till I heard about the debut of TEAM OF PARIS in 2005. Last year, my ex-team mate, Amaury BARATIN, won the race in Super sport class with them, a 1st for a French in Macau history. Therefore, I can't dream about a better team for my 1st trial, and I'm sure we’ll have great time with the experienced Joao and British aces, Michael and Martin".
Joao continues: "Its really good to come back to the TOP family. The Team have increase in experience and professionalism in the lat few years and is really great to be in the same team with a big name such as Michael Rutter. For the last decade Rutter is the legend to beat in the Streets of Macau and for sure I will learn some tricks from him to ride in Macau a bit faster. I am just happy to be part of the Team and I will my best for the TOP fans, friends and sponsors".
Martin JESSOP adds: “Its awesome to be coming back to Macau after a few years of not doing it. I first rode at Macau in
2007. To be coming back on my factory Ducati that I race in the BSB championship is going to be perfect for me as I
obviously know the bike very well and also to be riding for a well established team like Team Of Paris is very exciting.
Having the experience and success Michael has at Macau, I'm hoping some of this will rub off one me”
Team owner, Olivier PIERSON concludes: "We had to work hard to build a 'dream team' for the celebration of our 5th
anniversary and I still can’t imagine we have a so great line-up. Talking about dream? Yes definitively, it’s like a dream
having Macau specialists Michael and Joao, together with raising talents Martin and Anthony.
Anthony was world vice-champion of endurance in 2007-STK and he is one of the French specialists of Le Mans, Bol d'or
and Endurance championship. Adding Joao, with more than 10 participation in Macau, we already get a talented pair on
our SUZUKI 1000 GSXR. Beside this, it’s a great honor to team-up and be supported by Michael and Martin, the official
DUCATI racers in British championship, where Michael end-up at a solid overall 5th after a breathtaking ‘showdown’.
On the second Italian diva, Martin will participate to the Grand Prix for the 2nd time and both are joining Macau with
factory spec. DUCATI, that will probably be the most beautiful bikes of the event.
Once again, we have to thanks our sponsors and the racing community for their hands since 2005. There’s hundred names
in our heart, but I must mention Dominique MELIAND from SUZUKI ENDURANCE Team, the 11th world champion titles
holder in World Endurance, Michel MARQUETON, ex-TEAM OF CHINA, the 1st French to be world hampion with a
Chinese based team and Andre MUNSCH from NIKKO RACING for his permanent support since our creation. But, I can’t
forget our ‘parrains anglais’ , i/e: our godfathers from UK: ‘Monsieur’ Alastair FLANAGAN from AIM-SUZUKI and
‘Monsieur’ Nick MORGAN from MSS Colchester KAWASAKI for having boosted our team in Macau the last 2 years. All of
them are proving that passion has no borders, no customs, no barriers, no limits but only goals as: Be better, Be
professional, Be humble, Be straight, Respect others, Share your pleasure, Have fun,... And it’s what we are trying to do
every year in Macau”
